Ferry or Float Plane?

Traveling from Nanaimo on Vancouver Island to Vancouver, BC boils down to two choices unless you can swim 40 miles in cold ocean water.

The ferry is a very comfortable and enjoyable trip but it takes two hours and although the $14.00 fare is affordable, the cab ride from arrival in Vancouver to the airport is another $65.00.

The Harbour Air Seaplane is the alternative method and if it’s not foggy out, this method of travel is quite safe and reliable. If it’s foggy don’t bother checking in…. Head for the ferry!

The Seaplane fare is just $70.00 and includes a shuttle from arrival in Richmond to the airport so it’s cheaper and much quicker; and the view from the air is breathtaking.
